Wake up everybody! Today is Monday, September 15, 2008 and the air is starting to smell like fall. First in the news is Alaskan Governor and Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin. Wow did that interview with Charlie Gibson go wrong. Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike have been shaking their heads.
Here are some youtube links in case you missed it.

Charlie Gibson pinned Palin down on several important issues and critics agree, she came off as evasive, inexperienced, and…
oh, I’m so sorry, Sarah Palin for having to say this! You were a disaster! Who forgot to tell you what was going on in world politics? Your answers were totally uninformed; you seemed completely lost, and it was beyond obvious that you were saying whatever you could so that you wouldn’t have to answer his questions. Not good!
Each time Charlie Gibson had to explain to you what the question meant, what the policy was that he was asking you about or what he was referring to so you could try again, I cringed. And then when he told you that he had gotten lost in your circuitous rhetoric and would you please try to give him a yes or no answer, you did it again! I may not agree with your beliefs (I believe in the theory of evolution – you don’t. I think that women should have the right to choose especially in cases of rape and incest – you don’t…etc, etc) but regardless of these differences, I would never wish that interview on anyone. You really came off as a nutter – did you have to say you’d invade Russia?!
The more I learn about Palin, the more I wonder if McCain will end up with a rat-poison-milkshake. She seems like a very determined woman. And for those of you who missed the SNL skit this Saturday…
In other news and world reports, it’s movie time…
Vicky Christina Barcelona – Very Good. Nicely done, Woody Allen. And my god, could Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem be any more attractive? I couldn’t stop thinking that they’re a couple off-screen too…talk about beautiful babies.
Burn After Reading – Medium. There were some really funny parts, but a lot of it was too over the top. The actors ‘played’ their nuttiness rather than committing to it like they did in Vicky Christina. Maybe I would’ve liked it more if I hadn’t just seen Vicky Christina the day before, but all in all, it would’ve been a better rental.
Man on Wire – Very Good. The story about Philippe Petit, the tightrope walker who floated across the twin towers. I was on the edge of my seat the entire film.
That’s all the catch-up news for now…have a great Monday and remember, it’s never too late to lose some weight. After watching Man on Wire especially, I’ve decided that we’re all too chubby. (and by we’re all too chubby, I mean me) Food is good and chocolate’s great, but we need to cut back a little. We need to put down those corn chips and take a run. Let’s just say it, “Tummy rolls begone.”
Fall 2008, let’s get skinny people!
